Bettmeralp.

This is the first place I saw the mountains, when our friend Christoph took us here two years ago. Finally I came full circle and brought some other people to this spot! The Bettmeralp.

Geneva

We took a stroll in Geneva. Actually, we had to pick up the lovely Erika at the airport, and these blog posts are competely out of order. Well, Geneva was a lot bigger than I expected.

We found a nice park to walk through on our way to the waterfront:

‘So... uh... what do you guys do for fun around here?’

Murren

This was Matthews first time here. We needed to get him to some mountains quick. We headed to Mürren.

Riding up the cablecar:

Matthew says “Hey, you were right Christian! This is a pretty cool bar”:

Praying for a clear day, we got a fluffy cloud day, which actually was pretty cool.

See the blanket of fog covering the ground? awesome.

Luzern

The Gang really wanted to come to Luzern the last time they were here... but sadly it didn’t work out, because the weather was horrible on that particular day. Well, no matter now. we did it this time.

Luzern is nothing short of just an all around beautiful city, with its carefully planned downtown, historic bridges and crystal clear water running through it.

I had a pretty bad case of tendonitis in my left arm. Im typing this right now, so I guess it is getting better:

The crew taking in the view!:

Aaron and Erika in front of Luzern’s famous Lion.

Securing the city from the rear are these awesome old defensive walls. We spent a couple of hours walking their perimeter, going up in them etc.

Gruyères

Gruyères is a awesome little town at the foot of the mountains. I had been wanting to go here for quite some time, so of we went. As you can see in the picture below, there is an old medieval castle that looks over the town. Here they are famous for a type of cheese named after the town. (Hey Mom, you can probably get it at Kroger, its called Le Gruyère and you can find it in the fancy cheese section.)

It was quite a march up to the old-town.

Here within the defensive walls, its quite a cute festive little town.

Shelly gets water from a fountain like a real European.

OK OK OK. So here’s my favorite part. The Alien creature from the Ridley Scott film was modeled from the works of a Swiss painter and scultpor named H.R. Giger. Well, he has a museum and a bar in this town, so I had to go.

Heres me outside the bar, in front of a work off his called the ‘Birth Machine’

Inside the bar!:

A leg of one of the tables, notice the detail in the floor:

View of the ceiling!

Aaron and Christian in front of the.. well whatever. I love this pic.

We visited the cheese factory too. But it wasnt as cool as the Giger bar.
